Finally More From Florida
Things are...well things are wonderful. I love being in Florida in the winter time. Sure the air conditioning is still on here...but it is nice to be wearing shorts again. Plus, I really wanted Normy to get a chance to wear THIS outfit at least once before he out grew it, and that wasn't happening in chilly cold California.
The truth is, I can't. I might have been that adorible about 27 years ago but now my fat detracts from my appearence instead of enhancing it. Ahhh babyhood, when else in your life can you have rolls like this and still be concidered precious?

A Little Normy a Day Keeps the Doctor Away
Actually, we’re just happy to be here. This trip to FL is Normy’s fifth airplane trip. For those of you who are keeping track (okay so that’s really only Smoochy and I) that’s five trips in 7 months. Normy’s been on a plane more in his first year of life than I was until I was 18. Well, that’s the age we’re living in. Heck, he can already type more words per minute than I can. I guess he has an advantage though because all his words are spelled the same:
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!”
He is such a cute little shouter.
We’re “home” in Naples gearing up for Kate’s big wedding shower. My spitfire little sister is marring one of Smoochy’s best friends. Shit, one of MY best friends. Chuck is like a brother to me. He lived next door to Smoochy and I in Georgia, so saw me through many a patrol. Every time Smoochy went out to sea I would mope and morn and lament. Chuck would tell me if he had to hear me say, “I miss Jacob!” on more time he’d disown me. But, he never did. I can’t possibly tell you how excited I am for their wedding.
When I got married I kept saying (to anyone and everyone that crossed my path) “It’s all Happening!!!” Just like Penny Lane and the Bandaids kept saying in Almost Famous (Seriously, if you haven’t seen that movie, go to Blockbuster NOW and pick it up. GO! Go now!) And now I feel the same way about Kate’s impending big day. It’s all happening! I’ve never been more happy about two people tying the knot (with the obvious exception of my own wedding, of course!)
But there is so much else going on. Visiting with my own grandparents who are wintering with my folks here in Florida, my best friend’s baby shower, Normy growing like a weed before my eyes. I am a swirl with emotions right now; and all of them are of the warm and fuzzy kind.
Or is that the glass of wine I’ve had as a nightcap?
Mmmm, nope it’s definitely more fuzz than buzz.
Any how, I’ll try to keep up on posting this week if only for my darling Smoochy who is so badly missing his baby boy (and me too hopefully a little!) There is far too much cute baby to be contained in one house. Enjoy a little slice of Normy pie!

Normy and the Green Beans
Anyway, I thought I'd share the following camera-video. Smoochy and I feel slightly conflicted about posting videos. I'm not sure why, because we have withheld nothing else on this site; but some nagging doubt still remains. But, this is just too cute (in my maternal opinion) to keep to ourselves. Plus Drop Shots seems a little more "private" than U-Tube. Sorry if the shaking gives you motion sickness; I'm not exactly a cinematographer. Enjoy...

*Sigh*
So much for "I'll post pictures, tomorrow I promise." Or whatever it was I wrote. I'm so sorry you guys. All I can tell you is that I have taken a break form the Internet, and I might need a little it longer to get back in the game. I haven't even been reading my most favorite blogs. Normy's hernia, the holidays, and our trip to Kansas took all of my energy. Now we are home and I have my own bed, my own computer, and a little time so things might pick back up over here at Day in the Life of Smoochy.
My year anniversary as the proud owner of a blog came and went without the commemorative post I had imagined I'd do. frankly, I feel like the blog is running out of steam. Or at least I've hit a dry spell. Some days I day fantasize and plan all the fabulous things I'd like to write about, but then by the time the baby is in bed and the kitchen is cleaned I am out of steam. The essay I had mapped out on my jog has been reduced to one or two scrawny sentences. And now to make matters worse I am blogging about blogging!
Blech!
But, Look how cute my kid is…
Almost seven months. Good Lord.
