Doula School

Well here I go. I am actually charging after a goal for the first time in my life and it feels incredible. I had been researching doula training seminars in the area when I received a recommendation from Kellie to check out THIS class offered in San Francisco. The program looks awesome and as it turns out this is the only class offered until January, so with Smoochy’s blessing and support I am going for it. My freezer is packed with freshly pumped milk and I am knee deep in prerequisite reading. I’ve just started Penny Simkin’s The Birth Partner, and I have a ways to go yet, so if you don’t see me out in the blogsphere much this week you know what I’m up too. I’ll keep updating with pictures of Normy, I know a lot of you (Grandmas and Grandpas) out there come for your baby fix!

Good for you! I can't think of a more rewarding time in my life than the time I spent as a doula. I think you will find it incredibly exciting and satisying. Best of luck!

Becca,
Here's to you for going after a goal and making it a reality! I really like the way you changed your blog site. It looks like a scrapbook page! The pictures have cracked me up!! I can completely emphathize with Normy about the chubby thighs! At least his are cute!! :0) I tell Greg all about his great nephew every night. It's kind of neat you have this blog. Otherwise, we wouldn't know you or Normy! Good luck with your new adventure, I am sure you will be wonderful at it!
Lynne
On another note... I am glad that you and the whole Smoochy family aren't in Korea. With what is going on to the North it would be kind of scary having you there.

Hooray for you, Becca! You'll do great. And only knowing you from your blog, I can tell what a compassionate, dedicated doula you'll be.
One of your first comments on my blog was so encouraging for me, that I can only imagine the kind of trust, commitment, and encouragement as well as talent and dedication you'll provide other women in their pregnancies and births.
Seriously, next baby? I'm hiring you!
Good luck this week!

wow - I haven't been by in a couple of days, and look at what's happened! Enjoy the class - way to go after it!

Love the new look, too - you're a braver girl than I. I'm in beta, but only messing around in a test blog. I'm too chicken to mess with the real thing quite yet...

Yay for you! I'm egar to start as well but Kael REFUSES to take a bottle. I'm noping by 6 months he'll be ready for cereal or something so I can spend a few hours away from him and take a few classes myself!
