Sweet Pickles!

Actually, They're dill! I am so excited I can't hardly stand it. I made my very own pickles yesterday. Last Saturday while my sister and I were at the farmers market we stumbled across pickling cucumbers. How cool! I had never seen those before. So I bought a few to try it out. I found a recipe on line, got the necessaries, at Wal-mart...and wha-la! Pickles!

Pickles are just about my favorite food ever. And not just because I'm preggers. I have always been a pickle eating fool. I'm the girl who goes with you to a sandwich shop and always asks, "Are you going to eat that?" while pointing to your pickle spear on the side.

My favorite sandwich of all time is peanut butter and pickles. Don't make that face, it is actually quite delicious. And I'm not alone on this. My grandma taught me the joys of peanut butter and pickle sandwiches, and my best friend eats them too. That's actually how we discovered we were soul mates... I finally found someone who would split a PB & P with me!

I was kinda' bummed that I only had enough cucumbers for two jars. That's just not enough! I mad one with shallots and garlic and the other with jalapeƱos and garlic! There are so many other combos to try! I am hoping to get more cucumbers at this coming Saturday's market. But the real bummer is having to wait TWO MONTHS for my pickles to be ready! I don't know if I'm going to make it that long...I even dreamed of pickles last night.

I love pickles too, but you are confusing me with another set of smoochies. ;)

Jacob and I may be the original Smoochy's (or the OS) but Angie and Mike picked it up too! For a while we were the West Coast Smoochy's and they were the East Coast Smochie's; but now that we've all moved to the Midwest, that no longer works. I'm telling ya', it's damn contagious. Watch out, you could be the next Smoochy!

Oh me too!! And my oldest is absolutely nuts about pickles as well. When I was a kid, my favorite Aunt used to make us "dilly beans" which were pickled green beans. I know it sounds gross, but they were awesome. We loved them. How cool that you made your own! I've often thought about trying it, but I've just never gotten around to it.

Never thought of making my own pickles! It sounds like fun! I'll have to introduce the PB&P sandwich to my son, he already loves PB&Ham. Pickles might just be a hit.

Claussen are the favorite at our house too! Becca it is so weird, but I've been having dreams that we have hung out a couple of times and that you were so mean to me?! LOL...I'm not sure what that is all about but oh well. Hope all is well, and that you are enjoying the wonderful Fall weather! Hope to see or talk to you again soon!

Love,
Amber and the Kellen Fam
