Scenes From a Perfect Weekend

After a solid week of rain, the sun finally came out in time for a perfect weekend.

Uncle Patrick came to spend the weekend with us.

I finally got this skirt off the needles where it had been languishing for far too long. I ran out of yarn in the middle of the bind-off! You cannot imagine how frustrating that is. I had to make a special trip to the cash-only yarn boutique to spend $10 more dollars for literally inches of yarn. Oh well, it was worth it, as I love the finished result! This was my fist project doing Traveling Jogless Stripes, as well as my first project on my delightful Denise interchangeable needles. The needles were perfect for this because the body of the skirt was 100 stitches which grew to 400 stiches for the ruffle! Did I mention I really love this skirt?

(This is not a great picture, but it was challenging to capture Georgia in motion.)

Miraculously our local grocer has fresh corn on the cob. It was pretty darn tasty for April corn. Here is a picture of Normy shucking his very first ear. Also a complete success.

Georgia didn't want to wait to cook it.

Normy watching the grill-master at work. I'm sure he's taking it all in.

You are such a good mom! Your family pic is cute, oh, and did I mention I want you to tell me the secret of getting skinny again after babies? You look fabulous.
