It's raining today. I woke up to grey clouds and the pitter patter of a steady trickle. I pulled the covers over my head and groaned. Jack started barking to be taken for a walk. "Not now Bud... maybe next week." I think the rain is finally starting to get to me. Today I am coping with thick socks and a sweater. I have a nice cup of tea and the Counting Crows playing me rainy day tunes. I looked on line... it rained 22 days in March and we are looking only a bit better for April. That is just days that precipitation fell... it doesn’t count all the days that we have been without the sun but otherwise dry. I suppose I shouldn't be complaining...at least there has been no snow. I don't know how the hearty Northerners cope with those kind of grey skies for days on end. No wonder the suicide rate goes up in the winter.I need to find the silver lining in all these clouds. I'd be rich! I suppose I can take patience and perseverance away from the endless string of rainy days... And I have faith; faith that I WILL see the sun again someday. In the mean time, could someone please come take my dogs for a walk for me?

The Today Show gave a statistic this morning that to this point in the year, your area of California has had over 200% of your annual rainfall amounts! This is your first year in California but it is not a normal weather year for them...so hang in there and even though you are sweet enough to melt...get out that Navy raincoat and enjoy the gift of a God given day! (I know, easy for me to say, we have had sunshine for at least the last 100 days!!!!)
Don't worry Mom, I enjoyed my day despite the rain. In the end I broke down and took the dogs for a walk after all. I had to towel dry Jack before entering the house, and Scooter had a bath in the kitchen sink because he was COVERED in mud from swimming though puddles. Other than that I was busy with a good book, yoga, and a Bradley childbirth class. I don't know how much I got out of "husband coached childbirth" without my husband...but at least I spent two hours talking to a real live human being face to face! All together a pretty good day!
Hey there sunshine:) I like reading your daily trials and tribulations, it's pretty cute. Well just to let you know, it is going to be 78 degrees today in the grand state of Wisconsin. We have a passing storm at the moment but I foresee the sun gracing us with it's warmth soon. I think you could handle a day or two of snow. It would be slightly fun for you. Have a snowball fight with the hubby and once little fart is old enough, building a snowperson is a good time had by all. Ok, back to work, just wanted to let you know I like your postings.
much love

It sounds like you had a good day in spite of it all. Hang in there, like your mom said, it's unusual weather for this time of year. You will totally love the summer. NO HUMIDITY, or bugs. :)
