The Poo Saga Continues...

I changed Normy’s clothes three times today due to diaper malfunctions. Or rather what I thought were malfunctions. Turns out the diapers are fine, he just doesn't fit them any more. Thank Good for Mama-Beans and her comment on my previous post or more baby clothes would have met a premature demise at the snip of my scissors. (Ohhhh so that’s what those crazy shoulders are for! I feel like a dumb-ass.) When I related my frustration to Smoochy he suggested maybe the diapers were too small. NO. WAY. Was my first response. Surely he hasn't out grown size 2 in Pampers! Those should be good through 18 pounds. There is no way my 10 week old weighs 18 pounds... Well, according to my scale he sure does. Check out the baby man-boobs!

If I had a baby book I would record that tonight Normy graduated to size 3 diapers. No longer are the Sesame Street charcters featured in the front of his diapers illustrated as little babies. Now it's grown-up Grover, Big Bird, and Ernie that grace the front of Normy's poo catchers! I don't know why this is such a milestone for me. It really should come as no surprize; he's out grown all of his 0-3 month clothes and even some of his 6 month clothes. I can't find pants that fit him because he fits in 9 month pants in the waist and still fits the 3 month pants in the legs. Oh well... It sure has been fun watching him grow.

June 12, 2006: 8 pounds 8 ounces and somewhere between 20 and 21 inches long

July 12, 2006: 12 pounds and 22 inches long

August 12, 2006: 15 pounds 12 ounces and 23 1/2 inches long

Who needs a baby book when you have a blog!

Hehehe! Thanks for the giggle! We have poo days like that too - far too often!

We joke that the only good thing about pooey nappies is that when we put our rubbish out on the street on rubbish day, the neighbourhood dogs and cats stay far away!

And you must be making some great milk - he's SO cute!

Oh, you gave up on cloth? I'm sorry. Anyway, another thing to consider about the diapers, sometimes it's not size of the diapers, but the brand. None of my children could ever wear those Huggies (we use disposable when we travel). The Huggies never covered their butts. Personally, I really, really , like Luvs and they fit my kiddos rear ends better. Oh, and they are less expensive, too.

He's such a little cutie! Samuel is in size 3 also and has been for about a month. It's not always about weight, because they don't calculate length.

It's been a long time but I can remember taking babies to the tub and washing their clothes out, then the baby. Wait til you go get him from his crib and he's got his diaper off playing in it... FUN!! Love the pictures. Give him hugs and kisses from Grandpa and Grandma W.

Perhaps if you buy 9 month sized shorts, they'll fit as pants???

;-)

Okay, maybe not, but at least you know he isn't starving!

You know the Sesame Street pictures are for the MOMS, not the babies, right? I've seriously been tempted to buy diapers just because of the pictures/characters on them. Isn't that sad???

Just in case size 3's continue to leak...I ended up having to switch from Pampers to Luvs. They are made by the same company, just fit a little differently, and they saved me many soiled outfits with my little boy (& a few bucks)! We'll see what works best with my little girl once she arrives!

Pampers SWADDLERS here.. cost more but I have had not one leak or blowout yet! ( knock on wood) although Kael is just now starting to fit size 2.. he's around 15 pounds and in the 95th percentile so your little man must be HUGE! How fun having a big boy!! But yeah, firm Pampers supporters here till diapers reach size 3.. then we like Huggies. I didn't care for Luvs because I really like how stretchy the tabs and waist are on Pampers Swaddlers and Huggies.. plus they don't seem to absorb as much or as fast as the P and H diapers do.. but we do keep a package of them for emergencies as they are so much cheaper! Oh, and I cut off quite a few shirts and sleep sacks before my sister showed ME that they came off from the top too... and her MIL is the one that told her! No one knows any of this stuff till someone tells them!
