Our First Fall

Though Smoochy is a native of the Midwest, Normy and I have never experienced fall, until now. I haven't taken nearly enough pictures of the season. But, it has been spectacular...though fleeting. In early October I was hardly aware of the golden color starting show up on the trees, but by the end of the month fall was all around. Now many of the trees are bare and all the red and gold colors blow around on the ground. The wind is pretty powerful. I am always impressed with the drifts of leaves that pile up thanks to the sycamore trees that line our street. It has been quite the experience for me.

Now that the temperatures are dipping briefly in to the high twenties at night I wonder what it will be like when the drifts are of snow and not leaves... It has felt like winter to my Florida bloods for the last month and a half. It's hard to believe it's going to get colder. Much colder.

What is it with boys and sticks? It looks like Normy loves them as much as Sam. Ahhh, the simple toys that nature can bring.

I love the pictures Becca. It is so true what you say. Being a fellow Floridian I can appreciate all you have to say. I don't know about you guys, but we've already had several nights of snow flurries. It's absolutely beautiful! I can't wait ( and yes I know... to most of you I am crazy, but I don't care) I LOVE the cold!!! Fall did come and go way too fast... I thought the trees would hold on to their leaves a little bit longer. Shows you how much this Forida girl knows. ;-)

If there is a stick anywhere in the yard, Lila will find it. Looks like she and Normy would get along well :). He's such a cutie...looking more and more like a little boy instead of a baby.

...and come March, just when you don't think you can take another day of Winter...a Crocus will peak through the ground(sometimes the snow)to remind you that Spring is a gift that balances all in the
Midwest.
Welcome...to all we have ever known.

You're looking great! And so is Normy! I miss the seasons in Boulder, but we're getting a bit of leaves changing here in Fremont. I can't believe you're over half-way through the pregnancy already!! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving. Miss you guys...

Hugs, Suzanne
