The other night Lola was sitting at the dinning room table flinging crayons in to space. One after another they shot from her tiny fist and landed on the floor. Her father, a bit sternly, told her to get down and pick them up. A look of sassy determination crossed her face; her boo-boo lip protruded; the gears turned; and she mustered up all of her force to issue forth her first resounding, "NO!" Toddlerhood had officially begun.
