I have to write and say that today I had the ultimate honor of being present for the birth of my first grandchild. Becca and Jacob were an amazing team as they worked together to bring Sonny into this world. Becca never lost sight of her goal of a gentle birth and Jacob was there each step of the way with a kind word of support or his body helping her to make it through each contraction or push. Now we are all trying comprehend the miracle of today and be ready for the joys of tomorrow.

Hi! I found your site through the "Toddled Dredge" blog... what an honor to feel like a part of your birth experience. I have two of my own, so I know about the life-long love affair that you've just begun with your little guy. My advice (as if you need more advice) is to smell him and memorize that smell. They only smell like that for a few days after they're born. Hold him and rock him whenever you want. Ignore the "expert" advice on holding him too much... the constant touch will heal and nurture both of you.

Congratulations, and enjoy him every minute!
