Today She's My Baby

So, my "Monday Post" died on the vine. I returned to it a hundred times trying to get it all out. (Maybe tomorrow?) But Lola will not be put down. Teeth? I'm not sure. Gas from new foods? (mashed potatoes with garlic and sour cream = bad mommy) There is some evidence of that. But, what I really think is happening: She has reached an age where babies get a glimmer of independence and don't know how to react. There is a world to explore off Mommy's lap... is it safe? Lola just seems to need to be reassured by my presence CONSTANTLY. At night, she can't sleep without some physical contact. During the day she wants to be held or within arm's reach. So for now, I'm trying to honor that and love it... because next week it will change, next year she will be running, and within the next decade my lap won't be the preferred spot for naps.

But for today:

we have days like those too. the beauty of the third child is you see how truly fast it goes and try to savor it a bit more. or at least I do.

Love the yarn you are using for your knitting project. Poor little Lola. It's like the country song that says, "You're gonna miss this, you're gonna want this back, you're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast. These are some good times, so take a good look around!" :-) Glad you are allowing yourself to enjoy each moment rather than wish she could do just one more thing.

She looks so peaceful, there in your arms, where she knows that all is well with the world.

Breathtaking...

such a sweet pic! and yes you are right, it's such a fleeting time that they want to be snuggled close, in your arms. I try to remind myself of this on those days when my "to do" list is long but my little Hazel wants nothing more than to be held.

You're doing important work being a mama!
